EVS is for 18-30 year olds from European countries who want to work for 2-12 months as a volunteer in another European country. Most projects are for 6 months or more. If you become an EVS volunteer, the European Commission will pay for:

• Travel to and from the project
• Language training
• Food and accommodation
• Medical insurance
• A weekly allowance

EVS gives you the opportunity to help in areas such as:
protection and improvement of the environment, working with the homeless, restoration of historical buildings, drug prevention, and caring for the disabled and elderly.
